Change

In life God is the one thing that remains the same. He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and always.
Everything else in life changes
From a young age we go from baby stage to toddler, and we continue to grow and change from there.
After high school whether college is next or not, we have a taste at being an adult.
Entering into the work force brings about another change.
From here things can look different between marriage, family or life as a missionary or wherever life took you.
Each big change in life brings about another season.
There can be a change in a job or maybe a change in your career all together.
A loss of a loved one.
Perhaps you had to navigate through separation or divorce, or you are wondering why you have not found “the one” yet.
Maybe life just kept on going and you are looking around at your life, and you feel as though you don’t belong.
Some changes in life we look forward to with excitement and other we approach with dread.
In these hard seasons God has shown me that there is always a lesson to learn. I have started thanking God for these seasons. I also ask him to help me not miss the lesson that’s there. After all I sure don’t want to repeat one of these seasons because I missed the lesson.
I’m not saying that God would make us live through the same hard season or another hard season just to make sure we learned what he wanted us to learn, but I sure don’t want to find out the hard way. Sometimes God will take what the enemy intended to derail us and turn it into a learning opportunity.
What if you were to start thanking God even for the hard seasons ?
What if you were to start asking God to help you to not miss any lesson?
You might be surprised as you will slowly have a different outlook on these hard seasons that bring about change. You won’t necessarily be jumping up and down in excitement for these seasons however you will be able to recognize that good can come out of even these hard seasons.
Some may handle changes better than others simply because they have lived a life of constant change while others have lived a life with very few changes.
Know that whether you are facing your first major change (and it feels uncomfortable to say the least), or if you are facing yet another change (that feels like your millionth one) there is a God lesson waiting for you. As you navigate through this season make sure to bring God into the journey. He’s there walking this journey with you however if you tune him out you will not be able to experience his peace and comfort along the way.
I want to end this with the following verse Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Take some time and dig into this verse. Ask God to show you where you need to be leaning into him in prayer and giving him thanks.
